Strength in Our Weaknesses

“ ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecution, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

– 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

I feel like I need to say this:

Just because I write and speak doesn’t mean I have it all together. I struggle with many of the same things that you do: time management, marriage, kids, friendships, finding time for myself, etc.

I’m just an ordinary woman trying to be a wife and mom, trying to seek God in the everyday. I have weaknesses like everyone else.

But I have learned that God takes my weaknesses and turns them into strength when I tap into His power. He often shows up in unexpected ways when I’m struggling and teaches me something. I know that He doesn’t show me these things to keep them to myself.

Just this week I met with a friend and more-experienced mom to talk about my struggles in being a mother. Again, just because I speak on motherhood doesn’t mean I’m Super Mom. (I’m so not, but wish I was!) What I know for sure is that throughout my challenges in being a mom, God teaches me and changes me. As I learn, I’m then able to teach, imparting the knowledge God gives me along the way.

So, like Paul, I’ll continue to boast about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. And in the process, I hope that you’ll be blessed by what I have to share.

Thanks for stopping by today!
