I attended my church’s women’s retreat last weekend and the speaker, Alli Worthington, gave us this question to ask ourselves: “Am I living like I’m enough?”
Throughout this Holy Week, I’ve been thinking so much about Jesus and all that He gave us during this week nearly 2,000 years ago. I’ve been asking myself a question similar to the one Alli asked at the retreat: Am I living like I’m worthy of what Jesus did for me?
Paul tells us in Romans 3:10, “There is no one righteous, no even one.” On our own, none of us is worthy of the love, forgiveness and salvation Jesus offers us. Yet, He went to Calvary because He deemed us worthy!
In Ephesians 4:1, Paul writes, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” How can we do this? Let’s be who God uniquely made us to be and step forward with confidence toward the plans He has for us!
Even when you don’t feel qualified or feel like God’s plans are bigger than your abilities, remember He deems you worthy. We don’t ever need to question our value to Him because God forever declared us worthy when He sent His Son in our place, to accept punishment for our sins and reconcile us to Him. Let’s live confidently in our love and worth to God, not just on Easter, but all year long!
Happy Easter, friends! He is Risen!
