Happy October!
It’s been a while since I sent my last post, June 12th to be exact. I originally planned to take the summer off, but somehow the summer turned into fall and here we are!
This year has been full of change for all of us, living in a pandemic has not been easy. But I’ve also experienced some really good things in the midst of it and hope you have too!
Here’s what I know for sure in this uncertain world in these unprecedented times (anyone else tired of those words yet too?): God is still on His throne. He is not surprised by what has happened, is happening or will happen in the future. He is ever-present with His people and is still actively involved in the world and in our lives. Sometimes I think we miss it because we’re glued to our phones, cable news, or overwhelmed by all that’s going on in our world and in our day.
But when we take the time to intentionally quiet our minds and tune into Him instead of the world, we can find peace and joy, even in the midst of a global pandemic.
Jesus tells us in John 16:33 NIV, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
2020 has certainly had its share of trouble, but Jesus is with us every step of the way. I pray that you feel His presence and peace this month!
Here’s a quick update on what’s been going on with me over the past few months:

I launched my podcast, The Perfectionist’s Guide to Mothering back in May! I wanted to start a podcast for about two years but was afraid of the tech pieces. This year I finally decided to do it scared and am pleased to say that I’m figuring it all out! I’d love for you to take a listen and let me know what you think. I’ve had some great guests on, including my mom! If you love the podcast, I’d be so thankful if you can rate and review it on iTunes/Apple Podcasts. It will help other moms be able to find it. 😊
As of the end of August, I’m now on staff with MOPS International! It’s totally a God story and I still smile so big when I think about how it all came to be. Through my work as an intern with Alli Worthington, I met the MOPS Vice President of Global Ministries and Leadership Experience. We started following each other online and she reached out to me in August to see if I’d want to join the MOPS staff as an Executive Leadership Coach! I’m so excited to work for a ministry that I love and that has made such a difference in my own life. God is so good!
My kids went back to in-person learning a few weeks ago, but we’re currently on fall break. They head back next week and are trying to make the best of all the changes from what they knew of school pre-COVID. My husband and I are using this year as an opportunity to teach our kids what perseverance, resilience, and faith in action look like. It’s not always easy, but we can still find beauty in our days even when they may be different than what we had planned.

Here are a few things I’m loving this month:
Standing Strong by Alli Worthington: My friend Alli shares her story with courage and teaches us to stand strong against self-doubt and adversity. I think you’ll really enjoy it!

The Full Focus Planner: If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that every year I analyze many different planners. With my new position at MOPS and my other work, I needed to upgrade my planner to something that has hourly scheduling. This is the one I just started using, The Full Focus Planner by Michael Hyatt. You use each planner for a quarter, so four in one year. If you use this link, you’ll receive $10 off your order. https://www.talkable.com/x/9Q84OU

Mrs. Meyers Apple Cider Scent: This scent smells like fall and I love it so much! I also have the soy-based candle in this scent and have it burning almost every day.
