One thing that’s constant in life is change. Circumstances change. Our address or job may change. People change. So many changes! I don’t know about you, but I find that sometimes the changes seem to happen all at once. It can be overwhelming.
But you know what gets me through seasons of change? Knowing that God never changes! He is constant and everlasting. He is always kind, just, loving and good. He is always on His throne and mindful of us. He is always protecting us, guiding us and loving us, no matter what happens!
I love these words from Psalm 102:25-28 NIV, written by an afflicted man who pours out his heart to God:
“In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end. The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you.”
The next time the changes of life have us anxious or uncertain, let’s remember that our God never changes. He is constant.
When I need to remind myself of this truth, I put two songs on repeat: “Not for a Moment (After All): by Meredith Andrews and “One Thing Remains” by Passion Music. Such great encouragement for the soul.
